Today, give thanks for the gift of your life and for all the good things in it.
CHRISTMAS……. Yes, it’s that time of year again. A time where we realize another twelve months of our life have come and gone with lightening speed right before our very eyes. A time of reviewing the events of the past year in our minds and what we wish to accomplish in the next. A time where we as adults are caught up in memories of our childhood, reliving the joy and magic of the season seen through the eyes of a child. The time where we open our treasure chest of precious memories of Christmases past. When we were children, it seemed as though time practically stood still, holding us against our will in a never ending prison of waiting and wanting; (child like drama emphasized. LOL!) Every second was filled with impatience and anticipation whenever we looked forward to some special event. Our excitement was barely contained, brimming over the edges with that child like wonder we were born with. Now that I have my own son, I enjoy seeing those same markers of childhood, and the fierce joy in his eyes as he tears into his Christmas gifts like a little beast. Today as you spend time with your families, remember to send a thank you for the things you hold dear; for the ones you love, for the magic of the moment, for all the beautiful memories that can never be replaced, past and present, and for the greatest gift of all, the gift of life, the breath of your spirit.
