Believe

I read and walked for miles at night along the beach, writing bad blank verse and searching endlessly for someone wonderful who would step out of the darkness and change my life. It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.
Anna Quindlen

This is such an encouraging quote to those who feel lost or alone in their trials. In our human weakness, we do not have the confidence to believe that we were made sufficient for our own selves, being able to love ourselves unconditionally and pick ourselves up in the midst of sorrow, or to have the words to give ourselves much needed positivity. But the wonderful truth is we do. And as I said in my post ‘Good News’, it is certainly a practice in slowing down and hearing. Even one person can help to change the course of the world, but those changes must take place first within ourselves, toward ourselves. For when we can treat ourselves properly, we can then reach out to others with wisdom, love, and confidence.

So I just wanted to spread some love and positivity to my readers, and remind you that you are a magnificent creation, with abilities and gifts, and your uniqueness contributes greatly to those around you, and ultimately to the world. And you have everything with you for this journey that you will need to overcome anything that comes to your doorstep. Indeed miracles will happen when we believe in ourselves and make ourselves a familiar friend to our own selves, enabling us to share that with others. The only thing required is slowing down to hear, and to be thankful for these blessings, and for the gift of you, to yourself and to the world. This confidence and faith can move mountains. :)

Hope your weekend is full of peace and enlightenment.

Cheers

MEMORIES OF LOVE

Image

A warm finger brushing away the icy chill of a tear trickling down the cheek.

Tears glistening like diamonds in her eyes when he understands her pain.

The warm swelling of pride in his chest when she stands strong by his side.

The light of fierce joy in a child’s eyes.

Two wrinkly hands holding each other the same way they did fifty years ago.

The laughter of making snow angels and catching falling snow on the tip of a tongue.

A mother’s kiss for the boo boo on her brave, sniffling child.

The sound of two hearts racing, leaning in for that first kiss.

A warm smile melting the ice around a heart that has seen a long winter’s night.

The freedom experienced by the heart released from a sentence of unforgiveness.

A feeling of happiness when seeing the smiles on the faces of those you hold dear.

The breathlessness of two souls caught up in the rapture of an intimate embrace.

The smell of a grandmother’s baked goodies greeting your nose at the door.

The sparkling light of mischief in a beloved grandfather’s eyes.

The elation of triumph and long suffering in the face of adversity.

The wonder of touching baby’s soft skin for the first time after the painful throes of labor.

A warm hug to lift the spirit’s on an especially difficult day.

The promise of hope that carries you with another reason to keep going when you wanted to give up.

The sensation of waves breaking against the rocks, surging energy and strength into the soul.

The relief that fills a heavy heart when shown the love of graciousness in a time of need.

A good word spoken in love and given at the right moment.

The all consuming power of love wielded to protect the innocent and those we love.

Four things

Four things that can never be recovered: The stone after it’s thrown, the word after it’s spoken, the occasion after it’s missed, and the time after it’s gone.

Smile

“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

A note from Celeste

I consider it a privilege to live in a time where the technology is so advanced that we can reach across the globe with our feelings and ideas and whatever else we wish to do at the click of a button. What a great time to be alive! I am really excited over having the opportunity to fabricate my own little world through this blog, and I intend to do exactly that, using this juncture to create an atmosphere that appeals to people from all walks of life and faith. A place to share my thoughts and opinions, writings and poetry, and topic sensitive articles and stories of interest. I will also post inspirational material in the form of quotes, photos and music that are conducive to peace and healing. I welcome any questions and encourage the exchange of information through respectful and heartfelt discussions with others that have similar passions and experience. Differences in opinions are welcome, so long as they are given in the spirit of good will by which this blog will operate. A spirit of brotherhood, acceptance and open mindedness, and/or for the purpose of understanding and acquiring shared knowledge. I love the exchange of knowledge, learning new things and understanding a different point of view. I hope that all who embark here will feel that they have gained something of value, and take it with them or even make it a part of them where ever they may go.
