A journey through the darkness (reblog)
May I have your attention
please lend me your ear
and hear a true story
of a night that lasted years.
Lost in a dark and dreary place
I was trapped in my own prison
I could not admit or accept the fact
this undoing had been my decision.
My eyes now glazed over
and my hearing grown dull
I waited and searched for an uncomparable gift
but my heart the deceiver had lulled.
Trying to find my way back home
on knees I crawled battered and bruised
Oh why has grace removed itself far from me,
my soul is continually refused.
Oh bright and shining, morning star
I ask you to show me the way
please help my eyes to see the light
and turn this darkness to day.
When my words had run out, I ended my pleas
and I lifted up my eyes
a beacon of light was beckoning me
and it lit up a path from the skies.
The ice on my heart began to melt
a new warmth I felt within
healing the wounds that were there for so long
assuring me I was forgiven for my sins.
Just then I heard a voice
speaking straight to me…
“Never again fear the darkness of night,
trust in my way and you will be free.
For it is in the darkness
that the light you seek burns bright,
an aide to help you along the way
to keep you fighting the good fight.”
My spirit renewed, I gave thanks in silent awe
the gift of grace had returned,
It’s roots now deeper than ever before
to preserve in me all that I’d learned.

Sweet Dreams
Had to share this with you all. This song has been stuck in my head for a couple days now. I have been writing the next chapter of my story ‘My Angel of Night’ set to this. I love the feel of this version by Emily Browning, so dreamy, otherworldly, sensual, a bit of foreboding, haunting and enchanted….love the instrumentals….LOVE IT! As most of you know, the original band for this song was Eurythmics from 1983, which I grew up listening to, and loved it then too. I also like Marilyn Manson’s version, it is also pretty good. But I am all about dark and sensual, as much as I am about purity and light.
I saw this movie ‘Sucker Punch’, and thought it was O.K, all the good parts were the action scenes. Anyways, turn it up and enjoy. Hope to have part 11 out soon.

The Chronicles of Uriel and Lilith; a poem
The moonlight shines upon her hair
the eyes of all the damned did stare
enchanted by her beauty fair
each step she took she must beware.
They called to her on every breeze
they watched her from amongst the trees
they longed for her on bended knees
her love could free them from their disease.
For her they fought both day and night
to pursue her affections within plain sight
the victor who won would be given the right
to claim for himself her healing light.
But alas, her soul flew like a dove
her heart she gave to an angel from above
in return, to her he vowed his love
to which the damned swore they’d rid of.
Alive
The morning sun is shining
twin jewels blazing in my eyes
as I bask in the light that reaches to me
I welcome the rays that pour from the skies.
The tree limbs sway in a gentle breeze
casting shadows that flitter across my face
I feel so alive, like I was meant to be
here and now in this shining place.
Bursts of exuberance emit showers from within
and a twinkling sound of joy proceeds from my heart
my body alive and warm with the power of love
I knew I was born for this from the start.
The smile that spreads across my glowing face
speaks the volumes I cannot conceive to say
I pray that heaven receives this blessing in return
this love that visits and energizes me today.
Let me not utter a discouraging word
or quench this radiant spirit that joins me
but like a river let the life flow out of my pores
I hear the spirit say ‘yes’ and I agree.
Soaking in the brilliance of the sun
I give thanks and welcome the god of life
happy are those who draw him inside
and for peace and happiness exchange their strife.
After the storm
A true to life event, a sensory poem where I attempt to convey my deep joy and emotion in a memorable moment I had with nature.
The atmosphere was electrified
from the intensity of the passing storm.
A light rain falling, so softly
like the petals of a rose
and the air smelled pristine
of new earth
fresh and clean.
The clouds were dark
and menacing
but lined in silver
as a white sun
broke through an opening
and shined it’s vivid light
upon the earth.
The raindrops reflected the light
and sparkled like white crystals
as it fell with such grace
from the heavens.
The shadows cast on the ground
were as of the night
of a full moon
accentuating and animating
every shrub and tree.
The contrast between
light and dark
was stark
but breathtaking in the
beauty of it’s harmony,
light and shadow creating together
a surreal and otherworldly scene.
And as I stood in the midst
of this natural wonder
I let my senses take over
letting them grow and reach out
as far out as they would go,..
and my soul was caught up
in admiration and surprise,
taken in absolute awe.
I was elated
wrapped up in a cocoon
of magic and reverie
as my mind, body and soul
answered mother nature
in her spectacular beauty.
I was helpless
to sound out a word
that would be sufficient enough
to convey the peace
and tranquility I was a part of,
so I gave myself over
to the sublime perfection
of the moment,
to the scene before my eyes.
And the instant I did this
I was lifted high in flight
on the wings of joy
soaring on a perpetual wave of bliss
that lasted until my head
rested upon my pillow
and sleep carried me away
with lovely dreams
in the night.

Tangerine Sun
Hot, blazing orb of orange
a bright and happy glow
bursting throughout the forestry
imprinting the ground with shadows below.
An explosion of glorious color
the hues of fire and light
reflecting off drops from a recent rain
blazing topaz bear the leaves delight.
A shining sea of orange bliss
toward the light I began to run
and gave myself to the joy I found
in the light of the tangerine sun.

Your fire, my heart’s desire
Speak the words that ignite the flame
and without flinching, nor a sideways glance
though my heart does tremble, for you I wait
as your fire prompts my feet to dance.
In painful consummation my voice may wail
and down my cheeks tears leave their trail
yet I will trust in you forever without fail
your fire strengthening my heart so frail.
Though mortal fear seizes my hopes and dreams
and I cannot see what is after the end
the light of your fire is a lamp for my feet
the consort of pain my teacher and friend.
Oh search me, know me, and cleanse me with truth
fanning passion for your purging fire
all my pearls and flaws too, I lay open for you
I will stand still in the judgement and not expire.
For your strength I desire, and your heart I require
all that makes me your own
keep me alight with your flame of life
so much glory to me have you shown.
May I be counted worthy and true
a jewel set in your crown
through trial and turmoil, wickedness and strife
may all my words be a pleasing sound.
My earthen vessel I’ve emptied, now offered up to you
fill it to overflowing, and send me out into the night
a quest for my King, a message to man
my battle armor ready, I stand willing to fight.
I close my eyes and breathe you in
your face is all I can see
I invite you inside, my lord and king
rest your fire upon me, make known your decree.
Though shadows fall, and terror descends
I stand here before you, I will not flee
steadied by your words, I will trust in your love
as I watch and wait for your glory.

Good News!
……….The good news is, it is a ‘practice’ in hearing, no changing required, no toiling in labor…..Changes will come naturally as we hear, and continue to hear, and increase our hearing. There is always a voice inside of us speaking, we just need to slow down enough to listen, clearing away the weeds (cares) of the world that choke the voice out. As we succeed and grow by this, We become an active part of that voice, that which is divine, and become the change we are seeking, and gain that which we think we can earn by doing. Therin lies faith. Your personal faith.

Let your light shine
“…Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” –Marianne Williamson
I love this quote. It is such a bold statement that holds such truth. As I have grown in years and wisdom through my life, I can see a direct correlation of my own thoughts and actions affecting the thoughts and actions of others. And this did not happen by me trying to change another person because I thought they needed something changed. It happened as I worked on myself, peering deeply within and answering my own questions that I wanted to find the truth for. Rearranging those questions to better reflect the answers I felt in my heart to be true. If this sounds confusing, just ask yourself a different question, and keep asking untill the answer comes with conviction. Because it is not just the answers that are important. It is asking the right questions. We hold sway over our own ability to see clearly, this is a fact, weather we believe this or not.
Now, I am not sure how I came up with this from reading this quote, but before I began to write, I had decided to just start with the first word and keep writing without editing, whatever it was in my heart that I felt compelled to say. So, there you have it. And now as I read back over it, I am impressed because it makes perfect sense to me, and I have let myself draw from and learn from the vast knowledge that dwells in my spirit, that which was there in the beginning. It is there in everyone. I love to challenge myself and expand upon my thoughts on numerous subjects in this way. I gain an amazing amount of insight from doing this. As writers, I am sure most of you have done something like this. And if you have, keep doing it. If you have not, try it. It is very liberating and enlightening, and it is fun.
Please leave a comment with your thoughts, and let me know what you gained from this. I love learning new things and sharing knowledge.
Hope everyone had a good Monday….
with love

Faceless Man
This is not one of Creed’s more popular songs, but it is still a favorite of mine. Something about it speaks to me, and it has rich message. You can read the lyrics by switching to youtube mode and dropping down the show more menu. Hope you have a minute to listen….enjoy and have a blessed day.
