A journey through the darkness (reblog)
May I have your attention
please lend me your ear
and hear a true story
of a night that lasted years.
Lost in a dark and dreary place
I was trapped in my own prison
I could not admit or accept the fact
this undoing had been my decision.
My eyes now glazed over
and my hearing grown dull
I waited and searched for an uncomparable gift
but my heart the deceiver had lulled.
Trying to find my way back home
on knees I crawled battered and bruised
Oh why has grace removed itself far from me,
my soul is continually refused.
Oh bright and shining, morning star
I ask you to show me the way
please help my eyes to see the light
and turn this darkness to day.
When my words had run out, I ended my pleas
and I lifted up my eyes
a beacon of light was beckoning me
and it lit up a path from the skies.
The ice on my heart began to melt
a new warmth I felt within
healing the wounds that were there for so long
assuring me I was forgiven for my sins.
Just then I heard a voice
speaking straight to me…

My spirit renewed, I gave thanks in silent awe

Well, what can I say? I just discovered this song and I am rendered speechless (trust me that does not happen too often 
) and am totally swept away. An absolute stunning, soulful, powerful piece with impassioned lyrics sung by the voice of an earthly angel. I am wowed. You have to listen to know and appreciate fully. Hello, friends! I have missed everyone, missed the connection and words from your brilliant hearts and minds. All is well here, just have needed a break, a breather from my rigorous routine. I have still been writing some on the side, of course, but as you know have been absent from WordPress. My soul has been pretty quiet as far as things I feel I need to say or display publicly, though I have missed it.
Most of you know, I love a good emotional symphony. Though these are from the HP movie, the composer is gifted and in tune with the rhythmic notes of the ether, and I had to share these two fantastic pieces that I adore with you. Just stumbled across them yesterday….. I am always searching for something new that invokes the senses, emotions and creativity.
I do hope everyone is well and enjoying your creative projects. Best wishes and warm goodwill for every single, amazing artist here in the blogesphere. It is a privilege to know you and have your friendship and support. I will slowly pick up the pace from here. For if there is one thing I love, it is writing. Sweet Dreams
Had to share this with you all. This song has been stuck in my head for a couple days now. I have been writing the next chapter of my story ‘My Angel of Night’ set to this. I love the feel of this version by Emily Browning, so dreamy, otherworldly, sensual, a bit of foreboding, haunting and enchanted….love the instrumentals….LOVE IT! As most of you know, the original band for this song was Eurythmics from 1983, which I grew up listening to, and loved it then too. I also like Marilyn Manson’s version, it is also pretty good. But I am all about dark and sensual, as much as I am about purity and light. I saw this movie ‘Sucker Punch’, and thought it was O.K, all the good parts were the action scenes. Anyways, turn it up and enjoy. Hope to have part 11 out soon.

Green Man + Haiku
An awesome song, from one of my favorite bands. The lyrics are hauntingly beautiful, and I have added them below the video. I know this band may not be everyone’s cup of tea, indeed it is a minority….but I find they suit a secret part of me well, and their music is unique, speaking to me on an honest and human level. Actually, I have written a handful of poems while playing them in the background, if you can believe that. If it’s not to your liking, cool. If it is, very good. But I think we all agree, the lyrical verse is quite stunning.
I also wrote a haiku, which was inspired by this song. Enjoy.

Standing at the precipice my eyes behold
sky shedding the cloak of twilight
as dawn’s first rays touch the horizon.
Spring won’t come, the need of strife
To struggle to be freed from hard ground
The evening mists that creep and crawl

The lesson of the pebble
I know I just posted this song just a bit ago, but as I was listening to it again, the words for a poem came to me, so I decided to repost this song to this poem….hope everyone will enjoy it….
At dawn she rises, a day like any other
and tries her best to force a smile
again she’ll have to reach down deep
to keep her holding on for a while.
For so long she’s had to battle
this war between her heart and mind
she had not expected in all her life
to find these walls she’d built to hide behind.
Now her sorrow had outrun her
her burden too painful to hold
the joyful song her heart had once sung
was silent and dormant in the cold.
Happiness and peace once the pillars of her soul
in all things she’d found the beauty of a rose
but her world had turned to shades of gray
this is not the life she ever would have chose.
In the still and quiet of the morning
she walked alongside a stream
and wondered why her plans had failed
and deserted her soul in a broken dream.
Beneath the water something caught her eye
a pebble the color of the bluest sky
in the midst of all the others it’s color truly showed
the beauty in it’s solitude made her want to cry.
It was a rock like all the others
it’s journey too was much the same
but in it own uniqueness it proudly laid
alone, yet it didn’t complain nor think of another to blame.
She reached down through the water
and picked up the pebble with care
she would keep it in her pocket
to remind her of her time there.
For nature had spoken and she listened with her heart
and received a lesson that day
that no matter how lonely and forgotten we feel
his love remains near to show us a way.

This poem was inspired by this old favorite song. I am turning back the pages with this one, recalling a time from my past….hence, reflecting on personal growth and progress….
Black hole sun, won’t you come
and purge the earth anew
swallow up the evil that lives
chop down the weeds that grew.

and take the liar away
display your power for all to see
obliterate the thief that steals the day.

to make your judgements known
castrate the fear moving among us
